Not very difficult to apprehend, say, like a mouse
leery of the feet of children.
When History is invited to a civil war
or an assassination,
nobody explicitly invites History’s kidney,
because everyone takes for granted
that History will not be on dialysis.
If a bird happens to eat it, it is not an omen,
it is merely a bird eating the kidney of History.
It is not important.
It simply makes urine from the fourth dimension.
Anatomy-wise it resembles perhaps
an oyster knocked up by a sousaphone.
